The Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) is meeting in Perth this year, along with the Federation of Asian and Oceanic Perinatal societies.
Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS) WA is running a pre-congress workshop before the PSANZ meeting on 21 March from 8AM – 1PM in the Perth Children’s Hospital Simulation suite.
It is relatively low cost (approx. $70 per person) and will have representatives from national organisations in attendance including NETS NSW, PIPER (Victoria), the Kids' Research Institute Clinical Psychology department (taking about separation of mothers and infants in neonatal transport), and the Neonatal Retrieval Service Qld (neoRSQ).
There will be a mix of discussion and information sessions as well as workshops and simulation.
The major foci will be:
- support for resuscitation at a distance
- providing resuscitation skills through workshops
- Royal Flying Doctor Service's role in neonatal transport and
- the impact of transport on parents.
